A 15ft soft sculpture/design that symbolizes the act of blossoming from one's experiences to protecting their inner child. Using Adobe Photoshop, I created a collage that included key elements of my childhood like family photos, images of the places I grew up in, and interests I had and still have to this day. The sculpture features a quilt, from which five-foot ropes are attached, adorned with durags that are wrapped and hand-sewn onto them. Durags play a vital role in protecting hairstyles and symbolize the safeguarding of childhood memories and experiences. Above the quilt design, faux flowers bloom, representing growth from the past while remaining grounded in one's identity, ensuring that you never forget who you are.
